(David says….) This is here for my benefit really.
But if you too would like an idea of what’s in store, read below 🙂
We are really fortunate to have Middleton Lodge, a lovely Georgian mansion, to call ‘our own’ for the weekend.- that has recently won Awards for Best Wedding Team and Countryside Venue in the Region 2015!
So we’d like to share it with family and friends as much as we can.
Friday:
- 2pm. We arrive at Middleton Lodge-our mansion for the weekend. Things start happening….
- Friends and family who have volunteered, or are so keen they turn up early, will be helping with the ‘get in’!
- 4:30pm. Final Wedding Project Board meeting. Actually, a ‘proper’ cream tea with a glass of something sparkling will be served for the main wedding party- bridesmaids, ushers, best man, groom and of course the beautiful bride (to be) (and our helpers above if they’re good…)
- 6pm on. Family and friends staying in the House for the weekend (who haven’t already appeared to help) arrive from this point on and settle in.
- 8pm. Supper in the Morning and Drawing Rooms for family and a few friends- chilling relaxing etc. Perhaps followed by a game or two in the snooker room and board games wherever the fancy takes us….
- 10:30pm. The bride’s party leave to feed the cats at home; and re-appear at the church tomorrow looking radiant, ravishing and any other word beginning with ‘r’ you might like to add….
Saturday:
- 7:30 to 9:30am. Breakfast for the House guests. You’re welcome to join us- as long as you know you’ll get a job to do!
- 9:30am. Time for everyone to get ready…. the ‘groom’s party’ get filmed in ‘informal poses’ (ooer missus) by Luke and Joel, our video- and photo-graphers for the day.
- 10am. Luke and Joel leave to embarrass the bride’s party by doing the same thing at Rymers Court. The Ushers leave to do some re-pointing and roof repairs at the Church- and all those other ushery things on their lists…
- 11:15. The Groom arrives at St. Andrew’s. No really. Definitely no later than this. He will also avoid the sound desk and AV. And be ushered straight to the front. And handcuffed there. Ushers- No sparkly things to be left in his way to distract.
- 11:20. The bridesmaids arrive. They will text the Bride in shock to confirm David is sitting quietly and behaving himself with a lollipop and his favourite toy (ed- his iPhone of course…) in his free hand.
- 11:30 The Bride arrives (or maybe a little fashionably after this- but not too long, as the groom will start to get anxious- and the handcuffs will start to chafe…)
- 11:40. The bride sends one of the ushers round the corner to the house to make sure she turned the straighteners off.
- 12:15pm. The approximate end of the service. Confetti and pictures if the weather’s kind- if not, a dash to the car!
- 1pm. Drinks Reception at Middleton Lodge. Including hopefully photographs….. and definitely SING Community Choir to entertain us.
- 2:30pm. The wedding party go through for Breakfast. (Yes, it’s just a phrase. We know we mentioned breakfast earlier…)
- 4:30pm. Speeches in the Main Hall, After which, there will be a short time to recover, before…
- 6pm. Evening Drinks Reception in the House. Our evening guests gather to enjoy the House and a few little ‘extras’, including a set from Knot Another Choir before we all stroll down ‘the tunnel’ to….
- 7pm. ‘WedFest 2015′ in the Marquee. Live acts, food and pay-bar until 11pm. You are then cordially invited to collect the underwear you’ve thrown at the bands and make your way to….
- 11:15pm. Late night Acoustic in the Cellar Bar. More live sounds in an intimate, chilled setting until 1:15am. Pay-bar until…
- 2am. Time to let the exhausted house staff go to bed. As should we….
Sunday:
- 7:30am to 10:30am. Breakfast is served in the CoachHouse Restaurant for the House guests
- 10:30. House guests need to have checked out by around now- but can lie quietly around the house for a while longer with dark glasses on unless they see another party arriving…. the rest of you can probably get a slightly longer lie in regardless….
